Description/Notes: Very remote, Eagle Creek Falls is the first falls accessible on a hike down Eagle Creek. This area is pure bushwhacking, and I am not giving out the GPS coordinates I obtained when I went there, but it is for your safety. Nobody will come rescue you if you get hurt out here, at least not quickly, and your cell phone (and possible ham radio) will not escape the rocky walls of the canyons. The area is beautiful, surrounded by hemlocks and mossy rocks, complete with clear streams and river otters, but it is also dangerous. Sharp inclines and slippery surfaces make this a hike only for the serious waterfall chaser or hiker, and group travel is a must. I went alone and will never try that again. Consult the book "Alabama's Canyons" if you simply must access this area, but take note that even that books author's directions are very vague, you needed to have the skills to travel out there before you can find it.
